In today's post, we checked out the new TopGolf here in Durham, and then had ourselves a fun lil' at-home date night... where we made a game of our own! (It honestly sounded so stupid – but it wasn't. Why was this actually so much fun???)

Hi, friends! Welcome back to another blog post.

Today was a fun one – and it started off with some TopGolf first thing in the morning mid-morning, which was a nice little birthday brunch activity for our gal, Meg.

And it was fun! The weather was kinda crap, but we were saying how Topgolf was kind of, like, the perfect rainy Sunday activity because it's covered overhead and has heaters. So even though it was only, like, 50º, we were comfy about 95% of the time.

At one point, I even looked over the field, and it was actually completely down pouring. But I literally had no idea (lol).

And then after TopGolf, we kinda just, like, lounged around the house, being lazy for a longggg while. We napped, I took the dog on a walk. It was just a very chill (and chilly) afternoon.

But then toward the end of the day, we both felt like actually doing something. So I did some quick Googling to find a goon "at-home day activities for couples," and I came across this one post all about making a game of your own.

At first, I told Josh that I didn’t know if it was lame or not, but he rolled with it nonetheless. (Later, he admitted to thinking it was lame.)

But honestly – it was so freakin fun (lol).

We ended up coming up this board game/card game combo that's kind of hard to explain. But we had such a fun time making it – and then even more fun playing it.

Like, we ended up playing our game until, like, literally midnight.

And then we went to bed  – and that was the day !

(If you want me to kind of detail first how we went about making the game and then second the rules of our game specifically let me know and I’ll make posts for those too and I’ll link them here.)

It was pretty chill and on paper didn't look like it was all too fun of a day, but y'all. Like I said, making a game was actually so much fun. I highly recommend it, if you're ever bored at home on a chilly, dreary day!

So until tomorrow, my friends 👋🏼 And thanks for reading!
