I’ve been enjoying writing these daily “here’s what I did today” blog entries this week (August 23, August 24), so now I’m bringing you another. (Writing these has been oddly relaxing.) Now presenting the August 25, 2023, installment of Being 30.

Before scrolling any further, why not go grab yourself a nice, little snack or drink or any other tiny indulgence to enjoy while reading? Kick back, relax, and hang on the site for a minute. You have my permission. ðŸ˜„

FINALLY, Friday!

I almost didn’t even care when my alarm went off. (I was as apathetic toward my alarm as one can be at 6 AM.) After stumbling around the house for a couple minutes, I found my way to the tub of preworkout in the kitchen pantry. One big scoop and fifteen minutes later, and boom — I was back in the land of the conscious, so off to the gym I went.

Speaking of running, I was yet again running late after the gym this morning. I genuinely think I may be the only person on Planet Earth who can get up two-and-a-half hours early for work, and still find himself rushing around last second.

This morning, I had two back-to-back calls with prospects, starting at 8 AM sharp. (I was butt-in-seat at 7:54 AM.) Due to some technical difficulties, the first call had a pretty clunky start. Thankfully, the second went smoothly.

It was Back Day this morning. Following a solid 30-minute lift, I finished up with a casual 2-mile run. Today, I clocked in at 15:43. Not a great time, but not horrible. To be honest, my legs still felt kind of dead after yesterday’s 10k, so meh. All things considered, I’ll take it.

After my second call, the rest of morning passed quickly. Because my typical “focus and get my sh*t for the day done” time had been filled with meetings today, I didn’t get as much done as I typically do by 10 AM. Before I knew it, however, my to-do list was done, and it was 11:30.

While working, I received this joyous offer via email, so I decided to treat myself to some Starbucks. 1,000 miles for two Starbucks trips!? Y’all – I go to Starbucks at least three times a week for nothing but my own happiness. You’re telling me I can get some Starbies and get travel perks? No brainer. Sold. (Enroll yourself here through September 12!)

For lunch, I had leftover Mexican from dinner last night. My favorite Friday delicacy: I look forward to my leftover chicken quesadilla every Friday. While eating, I worked on my newest vlog, then gave the new Miley Cyrus release (Used To Be Young) a listen (or two or six). Big fan of the new single. As always, this hour off went far too quickly.

Thankfully, I had a pretty relaxed afternoon. In fact, I only received a single email after lunch — and not a single ping. This is one thing I really, truly appreciate about corporate America. There is this universal but unspoken understanding that Fridays are for rest. I can fully get behind that.

After work, Josh and I grabbed dinner down the street at Slice of NY Pizza. There, I had a delicious slice of buffalo chicken pizza. Yum.

Finally, we capped off our wild Friday night with some television time. First, we watched a couple episodes of American Housewife. (This show is hilarious — I cannot recommend it enough.) Then, with a bowl of popcorn between us, we watched the latest episode of Love Island USA. We headed to bed early this evening because we have an early morning and packed day ahead of us tomorrow!

And that’s the story of August 25, 2023!

So now I’m wondering: What did you do today? What was your story for August 25, 2023? Let me know in the comments 😊
