Fun Indoor Things To Do With Friends This Fall

Have a Friendsgiving Dinner

We all know Friendsgiving (it's a classic fall activity for friend groups for a reason). So if your group is trying to plan a fun thing to do this fall, this is a good place to start.

Have a Potluck Dinner

However, if a full-blown Friendsgiving feast is more effort than you're looking to give (I get it), a potluck dinner is an equally-fun alternative. Pick a theme – or set a menu – and divide up the "who brings what"s for a low-key, low-prep-time get together.

Attend a Murder Mystery Dinner

Technically, you murder mystery dinners can be done any time of year. But something about the fall specifically just really correlates to murder. Whether you decide to host your own at someone's home, or attend a formal show, a murder mystery dinner is fo' sho' a fun thing to do this fall.

Have a Scary Movie Night

For friends who share a love for everything spooky, scary, and sometimes gory on the silver screen, a scary movie night is an easy choice.

Go on a Bar Crawl

At least for me, fall is the season when it comes to ciders and IPAs. If you (and your friends) can relate, you're bound to love a fall bar crawl.

Have a Paint & Sip Night

Either have someone host or rally the troops and visit a proper studio. Our group attended a painting class at Pinot's Palette a few years back, and it was a fun experience! Highly recommend.

Have A Double Date Night At Home

For coupled friends, pick someone to host at home and have a double (or triple or quadruple) date night. Of course, ddd wheels are also invited. (Because as the formerly-perpetually-signature-single-friend of the group, I can confirm that no one wants to feel excluded. 🫶🏼)

Fun Outdoor Things To Do With Friends This Fall

Attend an Outdoor Concert

Especially when the weather first starts crisp'en'ing (?), break out the blankets and flannels and find an outdoor concert to attend all together.

Visited a Haunted Attraction

For people who aren't terrified of things like haunted houses and hayrides, this can make a fun group outing. You can obviously just Google "haunted attractions near me" to find something to do. But the directory over at HauntWorld includes over 7,500 options (as well as some reviews) to help find local haunts, as well.

Go Hiking

For outdoorsy friends, hiking is a great thing to do together in the fall. Especially once the leaves are changing and the cooler fall weather really settles in.

Go for a Walk

Sure, it's basic. But catching up with a friend over a walk is always fun. And for dog parents, bring the pups along to get some exercise, too.
