I feel like buying a good quality vacuum is such an adult right of passage. For instance, I spent most my twenties purchasing the cheapest vacuums I could (because I was only willing to dish out so much money when I had other priorities to fund... such as weekend benders). Pretty much, if a vacuum had any amount of suction – and could pull up at least 50% of the dust and dander off the floor – that was good enough for me. But the other week, I actually dropped some real cash on a high-quality vacuum when I purchased a Dyson V8 Origin – and oh my LORD. What a life changer.

So if you're in the market for a new vacuum (and willing to pay more than $100), keep on reading. Because in this post, I'm really going to show my age sharing with you why the Dyson V8 Origin would be an excellent addition to your cleaning artillery.

What is the Dyson v8 Origin?

The Dyson V8 Origin is a cordless, lightweight vacuum manufactured by Dyson but exclusive to Target. With up to 40 minutes of battery life, this versatile vacuum is a great pick if you're looking for a high-quality vacuum from a reputable brand without totally breaking the bank. (While this specific model is retailed around $450, I was shook to see some Dyson vacuums priced at over $1,000!)

Designed with pet parents in mind, I guarantee you'll love this vacuum if you're also constantly at war with tumbleweeds of fur. Not to mention, you'll also love the fact that keeping your home clean and fur-free has never been easier – or faster.

Here's why I love the Dyson v8 Origin.

Although my Dyson and I have had a short-lived love affair, it's been a hot and heavy one. More specifically, here are the reasons why my Dyson V8 Origin has swept me off my feet.

1. The lack of cord to get tangled in.

First and foremost: a cordless vacuum is a luxury I did not know I wanted (or needed). However, the more I think about it, the more I realize I spend no less than 95% of my time vacuuming with a corded vacuum untangling the cords. But because the Dyson V8 Origin is a cordless vacuum, this isn't a problem. (Praise the Lord!)

2. It's super lightweight.

Everyday, I carry this vacuum up and down the stairs with zero hassle. Compared to the larger, bulkier, more traditional vacuums, the Dyson V8 feels like nothing.

3. It's extremely versatile.

The Dyson V8 Origin comes with several attachments, making it extremely versatile. In addition to the vacuum's "standard" upright form, the Dyson V8 can also be turned into a handheld vacuum. This makes the Dyson V8 Origin a great vacuum to clean off dusty windowsills and tabletops – and even your car!

4. It cleans hardwood, tile, and carpet!

I've been looking forever for a vacuum we could use on the entire house. And for a while, I had a different vacuum for every kind of flooring. But now that we've purchased a Dyson V8, I can finally use vacuum for the entire house – which means no more alternating between cleaners every time I change flooring type.

5. It has full-recline capabilities.

The first time I used this vacuum around the house, I was shocked to find that it can lay completely flat – so I could finally tackle those hard-to-reach places (e.g. under the couch and bed) without any issues. It's been years since I've seen nice, crisp vacuum lines under my bed. Now, I get to see them every time I walk in my room!!

6. Bonus: It's not that loud.

As an added bonus, the Dyson V8 Origin isn't loud at all – so it doesn't scare the living daylights out of the animals while using it. It's been such a nice change to vacuum the house without the dog running around barking and the cat leaping all over the place (which just kicks up more fur and more mess to vacuum up).

Hurry & get yourself a Dyson V8 Origin while supplies last!

Considering how many vacuums in the $100-$150 range we've gone through over the past few years, I am kicking myself for waiting so long to just drop the cash on a higher-quality Dyson.

So if you can relate – and you're in the market for a new vacuum – I cannot recommend the Dyson V8 Origin enough. I will never not have a Dyson ever again.

However! This is important! I read that Dyson is discontinuing the V8 Origin in favor of newer (more expensive!) models. So if you're interested in this specific vacuum, hurry on over to your local Target (or Target.com) and grab one before they're all taken!
